Courses

Choose from two specialized English for Teachers programs:

  1. English for TESOL
  2. English for Teaching Children

Both programs blend essential language and skills for English teachers with classes designed to train you to teach English. These include methodology workshops, demonstration lessons, observations of experienced teachers and practice teaching sessions.

English for TESOL


The focus is primarily on teaching English to teenagers and adults, although some young learners classes are included.

English for Teaching Children


The focus of this course is teaching English to children aged 4 to 10.

  • learn useful classroom language for primary teachers
  • learn about methodology for teaching young learners
  • practise your teaching techniques
  • learn how to use songs, games, storytelling, craft and rhyme for language learning
  • improve your classroom English through practice lessons
  • observe classes in Australia

Course length and hours

  • English for TESOL: 10 weeks (2 X 5-week modules)
    English for Teaching Children: 5 weeks
  • Full-time - 20 hours + your choice of up to 5 English Extras each week

Assessment

There is no final exam. Assessment is continuous and based on classroom participation, lesson preparation, practice teaching, written assignments and other homework tasks.
